Please note that at the moment the available messaging service is Telegram.
You will need to connect your messaging bot(s) to your Symplify account to be able to use the channel in your communication.
Setting up a bot
To setup a bot for Instant Messaging, find your way to Settings > (Integration) Connected apps > Instant Messaging.
Click on Add and the edit panel will appear to the right. Enter the name of your app and description (optional). Then add the Bot ID and the Bot secret (provided by the app) and hit Create.
Your connection is now completed and you will be able to view and edit the bot settings:
The first bot added to your account will automatically become the default bot for your account, used for all sendouts. The default bot can be changed by assigning another bot the task. Simply open the bot you want to set as account default and switch the Account default toggle
If you want override the account default bot for a specific project, go Settings > (General) Projects > [Your Project] and select the bot you want to use instead.
Connecting a contact with a Telegram bot
Contacts who have interacted with your Telegram bot can be reached with Symplify Instant messages for Telegram. These contacts will have a unique user ID (in Telegram) and this same ID also needs to be added to the contact in your Symplify database in order for the user to be contacted with Symplify instant messages for Telegram. This user ID will be represented on each contact in an attribute called telegramId. As a one time setup you will need to create this contact attribute.
To create the attribute, go to Settings > (Contacts) Contact data > Contact attributes.
Click on Add and name it "telegramId".
Then select Purpose: Telegram and hit Add.
Now you can import id's for your contacts (on both normal and test lists) and create and run your first sendout!
