Targeted update allows you run scheduled or immediate jobs to update specific attribute values for targeted contacts. You will find the section under Settings -> Import & Export -> Targeted Updates.
This can be very handy when for example adding a new attribute that you want to populate right away.
How it works
Start off by giving your targeted update a suitable name, and perhaps a description that explains a rule used.
Next, choose the list whose recipients you want to update. You also need to add at least one attribute to save the targeted update. When you have added the attribute you want to update along with what the value should be updated to, you can start to add your segment for the update.
Running the update
When you have set up your update to how you want it to behave, you can either choose to schedule it to run on a regular basis. This is handy if you for example do not have logic in your back office that calculates a newly added VIP level - you add the new attribute in Symplify, add the segment to the targeted update for the people that should have the new VIP level, and schedule it!
From the setup section of the targeted update, you can choose to run the job right away by clicking "Run now". You can also run it instantly from the overview page, located to the very right.
