In this article you’ll learn how to create a sendout in the new settings editor.
Over time, all Symplify communication will be created and managed by this method but for now you'll find it on SMS and Web Push.
Basics
Each box has an icon to the right that shows the setting status:
Not solved but mandatory setting. Must be managed before you can send or activate. |
|
Done deal! |
|
Optional setting which you can select to edit or not. |
|
Heads up, something is missing that you may want to look into. |
|
Crucial part missing. Solve the issue before you can send or activate. |
You can either expand all boxes in a category or edit each box individually when clicking on the Edit button next to it. The box will then expand.
By clicking Next, your settings will be saved and the next box will open for editing.
In the top you can send test and view how many mandatory settings you have completed. All mandatory settings must be done before you can send or schedule your sendout.
Now, let's run through the settings.
Define content
The different types of settings you edit on Define content are mandatory:
Content
When clicking Edit the content editor will open and you can add your message.
You will get a preview of your message on the settings page.
To
Set the target group for your sendout. Select a list and the segment (if any).
From
Give your sendout a sender. This information will be visible for your contacts when receiving your message.
Note regarding SMS, we recommend only using a-z (upper/lower), 0-9 and space to make sure your sender name is properly displayed.
Domain
Select the domain for all links in your sendout. When sending SMS you may want a short domain in order to save characters.
Domains are managed in Account settings.
Please note! Depending on device some domains may not be interpreted as a link domain and returns a not clickable link in the SMS. This rarely happens with top level domains such as the common .com, .org, .net, .se etc. So, make sure you test any new domains properly on different devices (specifically iPhones) to see if everything look fine.
Optional settings
These settings are not mandatory.
Sending speed
If you want to send your messages in a slower pace than normal you can select the number of messages that should be sent per minute in the dropdown.
Normal sending speed is always preselected.
Expiration time
Some recipients might not be able to receive a message at once due to bad reception, their mobile device being turned off, or similar.
If the content of your message is irrelevant after a given time, you can specify when (in minutes) Symplify should stop trying to deliver any unsent messages.
Send Gate
If the add-on feature Send Gate is activated on your account and you can add an identifier for your sendout here.
The sendout identifier will override any identifier on project level.
Note that this option will be visible even if the selected project hasn't enabled Send Gate at the time for your editing, but will if so not send a webhook.
Tracking
Keep track of the links you include in your sendout that leads to your website by selecting one or more predefined tracking setups.
The tracking options available for your sendouts are managed on Account settings > (Integrations) Tracking.
Basics
The basics contains information about your communication.
Name
The internal name of your sendout. Your contacts will not see this name.
Project
The selected project for your sendout.
Project settings and permission groups (if any) will be applied for the sendout.
