SQS and Kafka event volumes

If you send contact updates to Symplify through Amazon SQS or Kafka events, keep the volume below the limit in this article. It only applies to CRM updates, that is, updates to your contact data. It doesn't apply to data warehouse (DWH) updates.

Keep events below 50,000 an hour

Send no more than 50,000 SQS or Kafka messages an hour. If you send more, the messages queue up and are processed in the order they arrived (first in, first out). Later updates are then delayed until the queue has been worked through.

Large updates

For updates that can go over 50,000 messages, use a method designed for large volumes instead:

  • A batch import through the REST API
  • A file import

Use events for the ongoing, smaller changes, and imports for bulk updates. If you're unsure which method fits your setup, contact support.
