A web push is a message shown on your website to contacts who visit it. You decide for each sendout how the message appears: as a notice in the inbox, as a subject line, or as the full message. This article explains the design settings. To edit the content, see Edit a Web Push.
In the web push editor, open the Design tab. Click a setting to change it, then click Done editing.
On received message
Choose what happens when a new message arrives:
- Only add to Inbox: the message isn't shown on the page. It's added to the message inbox, and the inbox's count of new messages goes up by one. When the contact clicks the subject in the inbox, the content is shown and the message is marked as read.
- Show subject (click to show content): the subject line appears on the page, and the contact clicks it to see the content. The count of new messages goes up by one, and goes down again when the contact clicks the subject.
- Show content: the content appears on the page right away and the message is marked as read. The count of new messages doesn't change.
Subject and content placement
Choose where on the page the message appears. Content placement sets where the content is shown. If you chose Show subject, also set Subject placement for the subject line. The options are:
- Center of screen
- Top Left corner of screen
- Top Right corner of screen
- Bottom Left corner of screen
- Bottom Right corner of screen
- Fullscreen
Style
Width
Set the width of the message in pixels or as a percentage of the browser window. The height follows the content.
- Width: a fixed width in pixels is recommended. 100% is the full width of the browser window.
- Min. width: the message is never narrower than this.
- Max width: the message is never wider than this, for example when the browser window is narrower than the width you set.
For example:
- Width 500 px: the message is always 500 px wide, even in a 300 px wide window.
- Width 500 px and Max width 80%: the message is 500 px wide as long as the window is at least 500 px wide. In a narrower window, the message is 80% of the window.
Spacing
Under Margin, set the space in pixels around the message.
